In addition to Pamlico Sound being just foot steps away, the beautiful beaches of Hatteras Island are less than five miles away.  Buxton Beach is five miles from SUNSHINE; Frisco Bathhouse Beach is four miles away; entry to The Point is five miles.  The Buxton "Lighthouse Beach" was named one of the ten best beaches in the country.  Also close by are ORV access in Frisco at Billy Mitchell Field and the ramp to Hatteras Inlet.  The free Hatteras Inlet ferry boat will take you to the beaches of Ocracoke.
